We get it — calling someone new to come into your home takes a little trust. These are the questions most people ask before they book. Read through, and if something is still unclear, just call or text.
About the Service
Do you come to my home or do I have to bring my devices somewhere?
We come to you. Home Tech Help MN provides in-home visits throughout the northwest Twin Cities suburbs including Maple Grove, Plymouth, Brooklyn Park, Champlin, Minnetonka, Wayzata, Excelsior, Orono, Mound, Minnetrista, Medina, Edina, Deephaven, Shorewood, North Oaks, and Shoreview. No dropping off devices, no waiting in line.
How are you different from Geek Squad or HelloTech?
We are a local, solo service — you get the same person every time, not a rotating technician. We work at your pace, explain everything in plain language, and focus on homeowners who want to feel confident with their technology, not just have it fixed and forgotten. No upselling, no corporate scripts, no rushing to the next call.
What kinds of tech problems do you help with?
We help with TV and streaming setup, WiFi and router issues, smartphone and tablet help, smart home devices like Alexa and Ring, cable and internet bill reviews, video doorbell installation, and general in-home tech support. If it plugs in or connects to the internet, we can probably help.

Common Tech Questions
Can you make my older TV work like a smart TV?
Yes. Most older TVs can stream Netflix, YouTube, and all your favorite apps with a simple device that plugs into the back — like a Roku or Amazon Fire Stick. We come to your home, set it up, connect everything to your WiFi, and show you how to use it before we leave. You do not need to buy a new TV.
Do you help with streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube TV?
Yes — setting up and troubleshooting streaming services is one of our most requested services. We set up your accounts, organize your apps, optimize your TV settings, and show you how to use everything before we leave.
Do you help with WiFi dead zones and slow internet?
Yes. We diagnose weak spots throughout your home, optimize your router settings, and recommend mesh systems if needed. Whole-home WiFi coverage is one of the most common requests we get across the northwest Twin Cities suburbs.
Can you help set up video calls on an Echo Show?
Yes. The Echo Show is one of our most popular setup requests. We set up video calling with family members, configure the Drop In feature, connect it to your contacts, and make sure the camera and microphone are working properly. We also show you how to use it before we leave so you feel confident.
What if I am a snowbird and need help when I return in the spring?
We offer a Snowbird Home Monitoring package and can help you reconnect and update all your devices when you return home. We also set up monitoring systems before you leave so your home stays protected while you are away. Many of our clients are seasonal travelers.
